Can you Spare a Few Hours a Week

Radio Law the hospital radio station at Wishaw General requires assistance with our request shows. We are looking for ward visitors to visit patients during hospital visiting times. You would be asked to visit patients to obtain requests for our evening shows. We are also looking for presenters for our evening shows every evening between 6 and 10. Don’t worry if you have no experience what we require are people with a friendly disposition and a sympathetic ear.

Radio Law are on the airwaves all year round and their festive fundraiser helps to keep us up and running – thanks to the generosity of people who took part.

 

Members toured the wards to take requests from patients and play some bingo, while a raffle at the hospital entrance made hundreds of pounds that will let the us keep spinning the discs during 2012.

Our secretary Tom Boyd said: “We raised £635 from our raffle, which will help to keep the station going. This money allows us to keep the station for the patients. Radio Law have had to outlay a significant amount of money equipping the bedsides with headsets in the acute wards.

 

“Thanks are due to Wishaw General Hospital for allowing us to use the entrance area and, of course, thanks to all the staff, patients and visitors at the hospital for making this day possible and to bring some Christmas cheer to the patients.

 

“We would like to thank Celtic Football Club, Rangers Football Club, Kwik Fit Insurance, Magnum Sound, M&D’s, Carluke Golf Club, Factory Shop, Tunnocks, Chapmans, Wishaw Golf Club, Build a Bear and Asian Tandoori for their kind prize donations. We still have a few prizes that haven’t been collected, so any winners should call the station and leave their contact details.”
